Deja Vu from KS ....(2008-07-28)
My morning began with an email informing me that someone had posted my content on Craigslist.
The Plagiarist:
Name: Lee Curle
Location: Newton, KS
Website: http://leecdesigns.com/default.aspx    LC Designs
Here is a copy of my original content:

And now the beginning of the next section:

And finally from the bottom:

Here is a copy of the borrowed content:

The organization is the same, most of the text is word for word. Notice he skipped the Deja Vu content!
My Response ....     This time the content was posted only to craigslist not his website (yes he has one and I checked it out too). I emailed him to remove my content. "I have found material on your craigslist posting that has been copied (plagiarized) from my web site. Remove it immediately."
His Reply ....
"Show me the original concept and write up, maybe you plagarized from me, remove your immediately"
My Response ....
"In addition to other documentation, my web site has been archived at
http://www.archive.org/web/web.php for occasions like this.
Remove my content from the craigslist posting."
His Reply ....
"Already have Chief, and you might want hide your source code a littl more."
Follow up ....(2008-07-29)
It occurred to me that after 7 of these incidents that people were just not taking me serious on the issue.
Especially yesterday dealing with this guy. Surely he had seen this page and knew that I would take steps
to get my content removed. So I surmised that the problem was me trying to being a nice guy. You see in
the past I blurred and/or clipped out indentifying information. The previous offenders were anonymous.
So I decided to step things up because I am tried of playing this game.
I decided to start posting the Plagiarist identities and LEAVING THE INFORMATION UP.
While the information might be embarrassing, it's not slander or libel because the information is TRUE! Sort of like the home town newspaper "Police Blotter" ... last night deputy sheriff Buba caught Mr. Jones Peeping on Mrs. Smith.
So, I created this page and clearly posted the guys information near the top. I uploaded the page to the web site and went to bed. About an hour after I uploaded the page to the website the guy sent me a new email, of course I didn't see it until the next day.
His New Email ....     "Hey Chip, You have 24 hours to remove my name and my business from your website. Failure to comply with result in a report to the better business bureau and I will not play nice, trust me. Site in question: http://www.hot4cad.com/dejavu8.html remember the internet works both ways, it is your choice. "
You See! This guy knew about the DejaVu pages and was checking to see what I was going to post concerning the event. The web page was up less than an hour! Now, he's not having a good time. Maybe seeing the actual name's and contact information of past plagiarist clearly posted online is what I need to end this.
So what happens now? The guy tells the Better Business Bureau that I outed him as a Plagerist. Maybe they will send me a thank you card. Anytime someone does an internet search the word "Plagerist" comes up with his name and business name And I don't have to create a DejaVu 9 page. Not a bad idea.
But I like being the nice guy. Perhaps if the guy APOLOGIZED, I might remove his name from this posting and threaten the next person or persons that plagarizes will find their contact information posted online for all to read for all time.
So in reality it was always his choice.
My Response ....     I just updated this web page. No email sent. He can read it here when he checks back.
Follow up Cont. ....
I received an email less than 30 minutes after updating this page. An apology will not be coming.

Therefore his information will remain posted.
