Pack 407 Raingutter Regatta racing rules

Construction:
The ship is made from the provided official BSA Regatta kit #17090 only.
The ships hull is 1-piece, no longer than 7" or shorter than 6 1/2" (including rudder).
The ships overall width shall not exceed 2 1/4".
The mast is 6 1/2" from deck to top.
Use the keel supplied in kit.
Use the rudder supplied in kit.
The sail may be no larger than material supplied in the kit.
Each Cub Scout must build their own ship in the current scouting year.
The ships may be decorated in any manner the Cub Scout may choose.
All ships shall display a racing number on their sail as assigned by the pack.
All ships should be painted with a non water based paint and sprayed with a water proof sealant.
All ships should be dry and ready to race before arriving at the event.

Racing:
Each ship must start the race with the back of the hull touching the end of the rain gutter.
The Cub Scouts race their ship by blowing air on their sails through their mouth or straws.
Hands may only be used to upright a turned over ship and may not be used to advance the ship.
Cub Scouts may not use their faces, lips, hats, nose or other body parts to move the ship.
The first ship to reach the other end wins the race.
