The purpose of the KnotMaster Award is to modivate our Cub Scouts to learn a specific skillset.
The KnotMaster Award is specific to Pack 407.
There are two levels, KnotMaster Junior and KnotMaster Senior.
KnotMaster Junior Requirements
This award is for Tiger and Wolf Scouts
Tie these 4 knots in 5 minutes.
Square Bow Knot (Shoe Knot)
Slip Knot
Overhand Knot
Square Knot
KnotMaster Senior Requirements
This award is for Bear and Webelos Scouts
Tie these 10 knots in 8 minutes.
Shoe Knot
Slip Knot
Overhand Knot
Square Knot
Bowline
Sheet Bend
Double Half Hitches
Taut-Line Hitch
Timber Hitch
Clove Hitch
Sucessfully tie the specified knots within the time limit and the Cub Scout earns a Knot Tying Patch and 1 free ticket (good for 30 days) to the Fieldstone Cinemas Six (courtesy of Fieldstone Resort).
Parents are encouraged to practice with their son until they can tie all the knots within the required time without assistance. The KnotMaster exam is a timed Pass/Fail test.
Each Cub Scout may win each Award only once.
